Known as "The King of Fruits" from its origins around 1700BC. 

It is oval to round in shape and about the size of a walnut. Its thin, red bumpy skin is easily peeled to reveal a white, juicy, translucent ball of firm jelly-like flesh that surrounds a shiny brown seed.

The flesh is sweet and delicately flavoured with a texture similar to a grape.

Health Benefits - It is rich in iron, copper, manganese, phosphorus, and magnesium, which improve bone and heart health.

Flavour - Sweet, with slightly floral and acidic notes. Upon biting, you'll get a juicy flavor burst with a taste similar to a strawberry or pear with a hint of citrus.

Availability - Australian season is October to March. 

Storage - Place lychees in a plastic bag and store them in the dry crisp area of the refrigerator.
