Native to the Mediterranean region, sage is a popular herb which is popular amongst many Italian and Greek dishes. Sage was extensively used as a medicinal herbs during the roman times to treat digestion. Sage has a slightly bitter and peppery flavour. The leaves are green to silvery grey and elongated. The leaves will change colour from green to grey as they mature.
